Tora led the multi-media environmental permitting for the addition of butane injection systems at existing gasoline distribution terminals.
The effort involved:
- Preparing and submitting updated applications for all relevant facility permits, including air, wastewater, and spill control plans
- Developing seasonally dependent operating scenarios, as butane injection is typically used during colder months to increase gasoline volatility and improve combustion
- Coordinating with agencies across multiple states and permitting authorities
These projects were successfully permitted at both Title V facilities (major sources under the Clean Air Act) and Synthetic Minor facilities (sources that limit their emissions to avoid Title V requirements), showcasing Tora’s ability to adapt compliance strategies across facility types and jurisdictions.
